#Just cause 3 full game Ps4#
I bought the PS4 version, and ran into similar issues. It’s the only game I’ve ever refunded on Steam. My gaming laptop at the time bested the minimum requirements for the game…but it refused to run at a good speed. Now, I’ll admit, I was super bummed about Just Cause 3’s performance when it launched at the end of 2015. And it does all this while retaining the breathtakingly gorgeous open world environment and seamless fast action gameplay of its predecessors.Īnd none of those graphics features are cut out on console. It uses Nvidia’s WaveWorks to fully simulate realistic water and waves.

It has a full implementation of the Havok Destruction physics engine, for massive explosion effects and realistic destruction of all game objects. It has a real-time global illumination system, smartly limited to a bubble around your character so that they aren’t wasting render time on stuff you can’t see. Just Cause 3 has a lot of awesome technical business going on. It still looks very nice…but it’s easier to render a vast wasteland than several detailed islands filled with buildings, trees, caves, cars, and people. Mad Max isn’t trying to do nearly as much, though. It runs very well on both consoles and on a wide swathe of PCs. The main Avalanche team in Sweden moved from Just Cause 2 to Mad Max, which runs on the same engine that JC3 does. I don’t actually think it’s an underlying engine problem, I think the folks at Avalanche New York just pushed it too hard. You might say “That’s bad design!” and that very well could be true.

But I really think its just got too much stuff going on. You might say “The game is badly made!” And that could be true. But on most computers, and on PS4 and Xbox One, the framerate can get dicey. Now sure, if you’ve got a PC with hardware in the top fourth of the market, you can power through the technical problems and make the game run decently. Games that would be extraordinary feats of technological achievement if they ran just 30 percent better. Games that skirt the edge of playability, and do so while giving you a glimpse at the future of game technology that may never come to pass. There ’s something tremendously appealing to me about games that are so ambitious that no amount of optimization can make them work right all the time.

No more scorpion in the logo, or weirdly prevalent scorpion imagery in the game.
